SONG is a minimalistic solo that congenially combines the choreography of Mala Kline with the dance of Eftychia Stefanou, the space of Petra Veber and the music of Nenad Sinkauz. Designed as a ritual, the seven-part performance is based on the Song of Solomon, one of the greatest mystical texts in the Western tradition, which revolves around the transcendental love of the unspeakable, the divine. Mala Kline's movement language of subtle, repetitive shifts, inspired by the practice of dreaming and images of collective consciousness, develops a hypnotic undertow when done. SONG offers people with and without spiritual aspirations the freedom to temporarily engage with the questions of being through the art form of dance.
